Carole Field's first spoken word as a child was "Nitti", the name of her beloved German Shepherd Dog. This proved to be a major insight into her heart and mind, as she has since spent a lifetime surrounded by dogs… training, showing, judging, writing about and photographing. She is an award winning competition dog trainer, nationally published freelance writer and photographer, licensed UKC Performance Sports Judge and a professional member of the Dog Writers Association of America since 1994.
Carole owned a retail pet supply store and dog obedience school for over 20 years (1985-2005) on the North side of Chicago in the Andersonville community. She is also a former board member (1989-1993) and served as Director of Training for Westside Dog Training Club, Inc (an AKC Competitive Obedience Training Club) in 1994. Carole was the founder and Director of Training of K9 Working Companions (an Advanced Obedience and Personal Protection Dog Club) from 1990-2005 in Chicago, Illinois.
Carole now lives in St. Johns, Michigan and works as an independent management professional providing support activities for the pet care and animal production industry. She has been a UKC Performance Judge since 2006 for UKC Dog Sports (Dog Sport Obedience, Protection and Police Dog titles), Terrier Racing (UKC Senior Judge status for Terrier Racing and now Drag Racing) and UKC Nosework.
Carole has been a board member of the Capital City Dog Sport Association, a competition dog training club licensed for UKC Dog Events (MI-115DS,TR,NW), French Ring Sport (NARA) and Schutzhund (LV/DVG America IGP) in St. Johns, Michigan since 2006. She is also a co-founder and board member of the Dutch Shepherd Dog Club of America (UKC Club #USA-123 CON NA), the UKC's National Breed Club for the Dutch Shepherd formed in 2012.
